Obama Mails His Response to Iowans

Sen. Barack Obama highlighted his opposition to the Senate resolution classifying the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group in a mailing today, only days after Sen. Hillary Clinton sent a mailing to Iowans defending her vote in favor of the resolution.

One helpful rule of thumb for determining who is on the right side of an issue in the eyes of voters is how many words it takes for a candidate to make his or her argument. Based on a quick estimate, Clinton’s mailing contains over 600 words. Obama’s contains only about 130 words — notwithstanding a pretty prominent typo (”While other Democrats voted for for the Kyl-Lieberman…”, top of page 2).

The mailing appears below.

P.S. Why am I the first person to pick up on the (very noticeable) typo?

  2. Top of page 2, the word “for” is printed twice in a row.
